SAVE THE ROSCOE HEAD
We have decided to fight NewRiver who really do not care about your local pub.
They also want me out of the pub and out of my home.
We are most grateful to a well known London P.R. company who have offered to help
us free of charge in our fight against NewRiver and in recognition of
our position of one of CAMRA's "Famous Five "pubs".
We are setting up online crowd funding to help us with our legal costs
We'll keep you posted on progress

To our only customer in Qatar - could you shake up a few sheiks for us?
Pubs owned by large pub owning businesses (Pubco's) are required, under the terms of their lease, to buy their products and services from the Pubco and are known as "tied-houses".
In 2015 Parliament enacted a new law; the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015.
The Act was designed to redefine the relationship between the Pubco and tied-house tenant.
Under the new law is a provision for tied-house tenants owned to apply for a Market Rent Option (MRO) when their lease becomes due for renewal.
MARKET RENT OPTION (MRO)
The MRO option allows, when a tenant or lessee requests, the granting of a free-of-tie rent and an end to all product and services ties (with the exception of building insurance) and the direct involvement of the Pubco in the management and trading operations of a tenanted or leased pub.
The MRO option only applies to pub owning companies with more than 500 tenants.
NEWRIVER RETAIL
In 2015, and after the introduction of the new Act, The Roscoe Head (then owned by PUNCH TAVERNS) was sold to NEWRIVER RETAIL (MANTLE) LTD part of NEW RIVER REIT (NEWRIVER) a Real Estate Investment Trust based in London.
In October 2015 NEWRIVER RETAIL (MANTLE) LTD changed its name to HAWTHORNE LEISURE (MANTLE) LTD.
